Spartanburg's annual Music on Main series returns in April. Live music will be featured at Morgan Square every Thursday night through July.

SPARTANBURG — The annual Music on Main series returns in April with concerts scheduled every Thursday night at Morgan Square in downtown Spartanburg through July.

It's not the only live music scheduled next month with Brothers Osborne performing at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium on April 4. Local artists will also be performing at The Fretwell including the Chris Gladson Band and The FR8yard will feature open mic night with singer-songwriters Janeen Scott and Ashton Young.

Here's a look at what Spartanburg has to offer.

Janeen Scott and Ashton Young

What: Open Mic Night will feature artists Janeen Scott and Ashton Young, with Marc Higgins as host. The singer-songwriters are based in the Upstate. Their influences include folk, blues, and indie. 

When: Tuesday, April 2 at 6:30 p.m.

Brothers Osborne

What: John and TJ Osborne, who are from Deale, Maryland, won their first Grammy in 2002, winning Best Country Duo/Group Performance for their song, "Younger Me." Their fourth studio album, "Brothers Osborne," was released Sept. 15. They will perform in Spartanburg as part of their Might As Well Be Us Tour. The band has been nominated for 10 Grammys.

Music on Main: Beth Inabinett & For The FunK Of It

What: This South Carolina-based band serves funky, smooth, jazzy and soulful grooves that set the mood and make you move. Their vast repertoire includes jazz, rhythm and blues, pop, funk, go-go, classic rock and reggae.

When: Thursday, April 4 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Chris Gladson Band

What: Chris Gladson is a pop singer-songwriter based in Spartanburg. He plays acoustic guitar. The Fretwell's outdoor music venue is just off the Mary Black Foundation Rail Trail.

When: Friday, April 5, 6-9 p.m.

Marc Higgins and the Chainsaw Bears

What: The Spartanburg-based band features singer Marc Higgins. They have played live shows throughout Spartanburg for more than 10 years. The band returns to a local stage in early April.

When: Saturday, April 6, 6:30-9 p.m.

Music on Main: The High Tides

What: The High Tides, fronted by Jordan Lawson, have a playlist of popular rock tunes. The band has been a featured guest at the FR8yard in downtown Spartanburg.

When: Thursday, April 11 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Dustin Lynch

What: Country music star Dustin Lynch has achieved eight No. 1 hits on the Billboard charts and released six albums including his latest "Killed The Cowboy." He's toured with Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line. Lynch, a Tennessee native, is also a Grand Ole Opry member.

Music on Main: Mac Arnold & Plate Full O' Blues

What: The band includes Austin Brashier on guitar and vocals, Max Hightower on harmonica, Rick Latham on drums, Mark Bumgarner on bass and Mac Arnold on vocals and guitar. The band was inducted into the 2023 South Carolina Entertainment and Music Hall of Fame and the Alabama Blues Hall of Fame in 2017.

Shostakovich no. 5

What: Spartanburg Philharmonic's season finale performance features Dmitri Shostakovich's "Symphony No. 5." The concert will open with "An Act of Resistance" by Joel Thomson, followed by "Three Black Kings" by Duke Ellington.

Rain: A Tribute To the Beatles

What: Featuring such classics as "I Want To Hold Your Hand," "Let It Be" and "Hey Jude," Tribute to the Beatles is a live, multi-media spectacular that takes attendees on a musical journey through the life and times of the iconic British band.
